blame

Where has the time gone, can you just tell me??? Where has it gone? I haven't updated my journal in forever. Do you know what I blame? Do you?

Well, I'll tell you what I blame: canned corn. That's right. I blame little niblets that have been wrapped in a little cylinder of tin. They have been conspiring against me. IN LEAGUE WITH THE SQUIRRELS, no doubt!

Atop my closet shelf, there sits a lone can of whole kernal summer sweet corn. It's in a bright yellow jar and is nestled right below my red flannel scarf.

Surrounding it are all my clothes. The socks, the scarves, the sweatshirts -- all staring at the canned corn.

There's no way that the canned corn will ever feel at home there.

And that's why I haven't written in my journal. I can't find a time where I can feel at home to write in my journal.

At the moment, I can't access AOL at home, so I'm stuck only having access at work. And that's no place to write a journal.

It just doesn't work out. I'm too busy, I'm too harried, I'm jostled this way and that. I'm like the event planner in the movie Monsoon Wedding. He simply can't throw everything together with the myriad of distractions facing him. Do you know what it's like not to be able to get your groove on? It's a painful feeling.

Well, I have written about 8 or 9 entries on my laptop, but I can't seem to get it to work on dial-up access. I don't know if it's a hardware or a software problem, but I'm going to ask my IT guru to help me with it soon.

In the meantime, I want you to know that I'm thinking about you. That's right -- I am! I'm thinking about you.

One day, I'll write again. Until that time, continue to live life as close to normal as you can. Close your eyes when your head hits the pillow. Fall asleep. Don't forget to breathe.
