good grief!

David is in Donna. Donna is actually a town in Texas. He and I collaborated on a Christmas song a few days ago and had a great time. The Vince Garibaldi classic Charlie Brown Christmas was the track that we chose to attack. He took a very smooth, classic approach and I went a little more divergent.

  • Hey jblend:

I just tried to send an email to you through your Apple-based site, but it kept telling me that the message was too long.

First off, I am not a psycho.

Second, there's no way to tell what I need to tell and ask what I need to ask in an overly-concise manner.

Forgive me jacking your Christmas thread.

Here's the poop. Thank goodness I am in the good habit of Copy/Pasting before I send text out into the Internets-sphere.

"Hey. Okay - right off. This is going to sound crazy. I'm an old classmate of Todd Elmers. I've known him since grade school. Don't believe me? We were in Mrs. Laubach's gifted class all through elementary school at Brookshire Elementary.

For some reason, I had this THING happen where I just wanted to google-search some of my old friends. Like, as in REALLY old friends.

Todd and I didn't speak much after, say, sixth or seventh grade. When I was younger and dumber, I made plenty of sport of him (behind his back of course, because that's how gutless and dumb kids do it) - mostly because of his penchant for Duran Duran. I had NO room to talk, given that acne of mine. But what the Hell. It's kids and kids are dumb like that.

Being longer in the tooth and wiser these days, I figured I'd see what some of these old old acquaintances were up to.

So, I googled Todd's name. And was blown away.

I listened to the radio story entitled "The Rules Will Be Different" and was pretty-well gobsmacked to find out what Todd has been up to in the last few years.

    Holy Cow.

Now I scroll through your photos and see this familiar face. It's the face of someone I'd still like to know.

If you could, please, pass this along to Todd. I'd be really grateful.

My name is Brian E. Womble. I live in Naples, Florida. I am one of ten-or-so Proud Liberals in this county. It's friggin' lonely.

I'm easy to find. Like you, I keep a weblog. My URL is http://tamingoftheband-aid.blogspot.com

I'd really like to reconnect with Todd and AT LEAST express my gratitude for the work he did post-election 2000. Better, I'd like to keep in touch.

He gets a big thumbs-up from me.

    Thanks very much.

    Brian E. Womble

Again, sorry for jacking your thread here.

  • I forgot to say - feel free (of course) to 86 above comment (and this one, for that matter). I didn't think about it at the time, but maybe Todd wouldn't want the world knowing where he went to Elementary school. I was just stoked to have located a way to give him a shout. Do forgive.

    And thanks again.
